The organizers announced on Sunday, Jan. 28 that the man known to many as Dr. Frasier Crane will be a grand marshal for this year's parade. Grammer also was the grand marshal of the city's Winter Wonderland Parade on Saturday, Dec. 2.
The St. Patrick's Day parade will be held on Saturday, Mar. 9 at 1 p.m. It will be the 36th edition of the Irish fun on the boardwalk, according to the parade's website.
Fans of Grammer shared their pictures they've taken with him on the parade's Facebook announcement.
"He’s a class act," one commenter shared. "Talked to me as long as I wanted. Real sweetheart."
Grammer will have another grand marshal marching with him: Steve Troiano, the owner of Maynard's Cafe in Margate.
"Maynard’s has been a community staple since 1966 and hosts countless fundraisers each year for organizations such as Adelaide's Place and for local fire and police departments," the parade posted on Wednesday, Jan. 21. "Steve has an unmatched reputation for giving back to the community and being fiercely loyal to his family, friends, and employees."
The parade also said Steve's father "Big Al" Troiano was a grand marshal in 1998.
